Petar Stoychev has won World Cup in Saint Jean Lake
Petar Stoychev has won the 7th start of the swimming marathon World Cup in open waters. The Bulgarian triumphed at Saint Jean Lake in Canada by being the quickest to swim 32 km. Damian Blaum (Argentina) – the main contestant for the title – remained second while Francais Joanes Hedel (France) was third. With this victory, the Bulgarian swimmer has secured his 9th World Cup title in a row. After two consecutive swims, Stoychev leads by 23 point to Blaum. “It was an exceptionally difficult competition. There was a strong wind while water temperature was 18 degrees C. I am happy I have won,” Petar Stoychev said after the competition.
